In this modern extension, the family wanted a light, airy space that would provide the perfect spot for cooking, dining, relaxing and entertaining. They also asked for dedicated storage for children’s toys and a long island where homework could be done under a watchful eye. We used the handless In-Line range in a matt white finish and combined it with oak veneer doors to add warmth and character to their new fitted kitchen. A Silestone Eco worktop runs seamlessly down each end of the island to create a clean centerpiece for the kitchen, whilst built-in Neff appliances and a Quooker boiling water tap answer the family’s needs for professional-style cooking equipment. Finally, a cosy TV and sofa area at one end of the room also provide a space for relaxing.

When the owners of this 1930s property had a full extension to the rear of their home, we were initially given approximate dimensions to create their modern kitchen. As the project progressed, we worked closely with the client and builder to ensure the fitted kitchen would be the perfect fit. In-line with the current designer trend of mixing materials and colours, we combined tale beige grey super matt lacquered cabinets with darker base units - both from the contemporary In-Style range. A supporting column was incorporated into the design which helps to divide the room into different zones, with separate areas for cooking, relaxing and informal dining at the Spekva breakfast bar. To link the fitted kitchen with the TV/seating area, we used small ‘floating’ units, which perfectly complement the main cabinets without seeming too ‘kitchen-like’ for a living space.

To make the most of the natural light flooding through from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors at one end of the room, we used crisp white cabinets from the minimalist In- Line range and complemented it with Corian worksurfaces in glacier white. To add contrast and depth, we used lava grey Corian on the island, which also mirrors the darker tones of the built-in stainless steel appliances to provide a modern fitted kitchen with a perfectly balanced design. A few bar stools at the island create the perfect spot for casual dining and chatting to guests when entertaining, while the flexible spray tap adds that ‘wow’ factor and professional functionality. Our designer also considered the needs of the family and their modern lifestyles by incorporating a lounge area with sofa and TV to one side of the room, which allows the family to spend more quality time together.

A Clean and Contemporary and open space

A large, square shaped room gave us the ideal opportunity to create a practical U- shaped design in this family home with a Neff gas hob, grey glass splashback and Neff chimney extractor hood providing a functional focus to the space. In-Style handless cabinets in white and beige grey high gloss lacquer provided a clean, contemporary backdrop for the glacier white Corian worksurfaces and walnut Spekva breakfast bar, which is perfect for casual dining. We also housed the American-style fridge freezer within our own furniture to continue the seamless look, which demonstrates how our bespoke service can be tailored to your needs. Overall, the mixture of textures and colours provided the family with a truly modern fitted kitchen.

Our brief was to extend the kitchen into the living room to create one open-plan area for the whole family to enjoy. Initially we were asked to design a scheme on the basis that the dividing wall would be knocked down, so we worked without measurements using our open-plan concept to enlarge the existing space. For a sophisticated feel, we used cashmere matt doors from the In-Style range teamed with long bar handles to elongate the look of the kitchen, making the room appear even larger and seamlessly connected through to the TV and seating area. Gaggenau and Siemens built-in appliances provide professional-style cooking kit while the Spekva worktop is low maintenance and ideal for a busy modern kitchen. Expert fitting by our kitchen installers ensured the customer was left delighted with their contemporary and modern kitchen.

A large social space to entertain

The owners of this kitchen love to entertain, so the modern fitted kitchen had to include a generous island unit with an overhang for guests to sit and chat while their hosts get on with the cooking. By installing the gas hob within the island, the owners are able to interact with family and friends whilst they help themselves to drinks from the American-style fridge freezer positioned within the chimney-breast and away from the main cooking area. We chose handless cabinet doors in an avior white gloss finish from the In-Style range to keep it simple, and used suspended wall units for a beautiful ‘floating’ effect. Overall, we provided this friendly family with their ideal contemporary kitchen crafted to their needs.
